Along with EU internal market principles regarding the free movement of goods and services, competition rules, and media and cultural policies, intellectual property rights are an essential component when it comes to administering the dissemination of creative content across the EU, since they provide a way of rewarding creativity and investment in creative content. A high level of protection for intellectual property is fundamental when it comes to ensuring the global competitiveness of the creative sector in Greece and elsewhere in Europe. However, recent revelations regarding the AEPI and the functioning thereof have raised a number of major issues in this respect.
