We voted in favour of the agenda item under the title ‘Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the EU and Senegal’ because we believe that opportunities are given for the Senegalese economy to prosper from a better exploitation of the stocks available, in accordance with the principles of a sustainable fishery and the best practices in the industry and that the new Agreement and the Protocol are in both parties’ interests.
