in writing. - I have voted in favour of the report on EU relations with Tunisia in the current regional context, as it addresses a number of issues. The process of democratisation, the respect of fundamental human rights, the open market economy, the freedom of the press and the media, are only some of the very important issues that the report is trying to address. It is important that in times of crisis we strengthen our ties with our neighbouring countries, and even more important that we make sure the values and the ideas in place are in accordance with the respect of human rights.
