in writing. ‒ I have supported Mr Howitt's approach as it is important for the EU to show a common and harmonised strategy towards Iran after the nuclear agreement. It is important that the rule of law and democratic principles are respected and that political dialogue is enforced for further developments. The respect of human rights is to be safeguarded and promoted. Relative reforms are welcome and that spirit should be part of all deals, trade or FDI-related, and international cooperation.
